If the oil level is too high and the connecting rod can splash through it is will aerate the oil and minimize its ability to: lubricate and cool (2 of its major functions). The air in the oil does not protect the sleeve type bearings as well. As the bearings in the LS650 are typically ball or roller in the lower end, probably minimal damage would reselt if it was marginally overfull. The aerated oil could cause the oil film in the air box as it could be pushed out through the venting system. Big question- is it overfilled with oil or is the oil diluted with gasoline? If it is diluted it is time for an immediate oil and filter change!! I'd also consider another at about 100 miles, although most of the gasoline should have evaporated during the oil change. Fuel dilution (either Gas or diesel) drastically lowers the SAE weight rating of the oil leading to quick and expensive damage. Max
